Something blue
I found some nice turquoise beads. Yesterday I made myself a new earrings set and a lovely bracelet too.
For the bracelet I used memory wire for the bangles shape and let it run around twice.

Glass painting
I'm getting busy with life and kids. These glass household items were painted by me with glass paint.
This is a new medium for me, a little bit different from the acrylic paint but not hard to use.
This first beauty was a decanter before. I draw the motiff on a paper, put inside, painted with brush from the outside. After the transparent glase dried the vase was cured in the oven.
Small sponge blocks were used here. Just dip in the paint and printed on the glass. This is a good project for kids and beginner too. When the paint was dry I used outliner to put different motiffs in the printed rectangle. A few day later when it wass fully dry the candle holder was cured in the oven too. It was a good upcycleing project I got my candle holder from a charity shop.

Please keep in mind don't paint that area which one in contact with food, eg. paint the under side of the glass plate, don't painr the top of your glass if you want to drink from it.

Happy Father's Day
To my Daddy and my lovely Hubby! I love you both soooo much!
A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.
A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.
A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail..."

Chan Luu style wrap bracelet - the finished one
Hurray! It is finished! Finished! Looks better than I thought. I really love it. :)
What do you think? I think next time I will use bigger beads and less round.

Chan Luu style wrap bracelet - second day
I did a good progress yesterday. Finished 3 rounds, still left minimum one. I changed the black thread to fishing line. That thread was too thick to push through twice or the hole in the small beads was too small???
Anyway there is the work-in-progress photo about my new bracelet.
I like it, but I started to understand that price tag. :) Lots of work is going into this bracelet.

Chan Luu style wrap bracelet
I love her bracelet but hate the price tags and that fact not made by me. I found this in Chan Luu's shop. Not as hard to make it. After I checked my boxes, collected my beads, threads I think I'm ready to start to make my version.
This is my start pack. Let's see what I got.

Swirled beads set
For this technique you need a few different coloured polymer clay. A little bits from here, a little bits from there. A piece of glass, mind your fingers! Or CD case but the clay ruin the case very quickly. And lots of patience.
Easier way if you make balls from the clay, cut it like a cake and rearrange it like a rainbow ball. Push the pieces together and swirl it between the 2 glass and let the magic happens.

My paintings - Zebra
I took a new photo about my Zebra. This is much better than the old one. Enjoy.
Black paper was used here but you can't see the paper. Everything was covered with black and white pastel. I love the rough texture of the zebra.

My paintings - exhibition
Last few years I did evening drawing and painting courses. Every year we have an exhibition in the local library. We just show around our works what we did on the course. This year's paints just came back from the library.
The first exhibition was hard for me. I just started to draw again after a few years gap. When our teacher told us "we will have an exhibition in the library soon. Everybody frame her works and we will hang it up. It would be nice event." I did not believe her. I had so little experience and I thought my paint is crap. But anyway my paint was framed and hanged. It was lovely on that wall. And the exhibition went well.
I still have that paint that was my first step. If I compared with my fresh pictures I see how many steps I did from that first. Already see a long road behind me and a longer one in front of me.
This soft/chalk pastel pictures was not in the exhibition. It was a Christmas present for my parents. The original photo was taken by me in our front garden. They loved the paint and looking nice on their wall.

Rainy day
Summer is gone. I hope it went for a holiday for a few days. The weather is not really cold just cloudy and wet again. It is a good time to make some raindrops photo.
We finished our annual art exhibition in the library. I will show my paintings next time.

First black-silver set
At first, June is here! But the summer is vanished few days ago. Still not cold but wet. :(
Let's go back to the title. This is my first black silver set. I made this a long time ago, still love it.
For the medal the swirled bead technique was used. Really love this technique you could make very nice beads with this. I will show it later.
The medal got some texture and edge. It was baked on a cork because it's curved a little bit.
I made earrings too.
I hope you like it.

Weekend with the kids
Hurray summer is here. :D Last few days we got sunshine, warm, nearly hot weather. I'm not complaining. Saturday we went to Clara Lara. This is a wet fun park for kids in the middle of the Wicklow mountains. We had barbeque there and lots of fun with the kids.
They were very tired, wet and dirty when we finished the day.
And here come my photos...

Project: Home dyed cotton twine
I love cotton twine. It is a very versatile medium. You could use it for a zillion things but it's white, off white. Very boring.
I got some fabric dye from my other favourite shop. Let's start this project.
My colours are sunflower yellow, ocean blue, rosewood red and tropical green. I have 5 balls but I want one white.
What else do I need? Salt, very warm water, bucket, plastic gloves!, stones :), white vinegar and a kid chair.
First ravel the twine into a nice round pile, I used the back of my kids chair. Cord with small scrap twine 4 times very loosely. Knot the tail to the head.

Nearly finished my green-red bracelet-necklace
I can't wait. :) I was so impatient. Already started my new green-red double bracelet and nearly finished. It was made to a double bracelet but it could be fine as a choker style necklace too. Even it is better for that. ;)
I still don't figure out how to finish the end of each square knots parts. What do you think? Do you like it?

Sightseeing
Friday I went to the city centre for shopping. Usually I do my shopping locally but sometimes I need to grab special products from the Hungarian shop. And one shop means two or three shops... ;) Must to check my favourite shops too. One of them is Beads & bling and the other one is Hickeys. In the first one I bought some nice green beads and waxed thread. In the second one I got fabric paint for kids project.

Red and black bracelet
This bracelet was made after the blue one. I tried out different thread, a black leatherly thread. It was much thinner than the silk cord and way weaker :( I tore the thread a few times (typically in the middle). GS Hypo Cement was used on the last knots.
I'm happy with this bracelet, it is more delicate than the blue one.

I use Ubuntu Linux on my laptop. (I'm a big Linux fan!) For the photo editing my best choice is Gimp Image Manipulating Program. Yesterday I played with Artistic filters in the Gimp. These are the best:

Yeast-free walnut bread
A good 2 yeas ago I got a bread machine. It was a nice present from my parents. From that point I'm off from shop bread. I baked a few real bricks but usually these are turning out lovely. And the smell!!! The freshly baked bread smell! Yummy! I will take a photo about my yeast bread tomorrow, baking bread every other day.
But... The last few months I'm on yeast free diet. I tried the soda breads from the nearby shops, there were not perfect for me. Tried out lots of yeast free bread recipes from the internet. And now I bake my own version.
And here comes the recipe.

From here to there
A good few months ago I made a few blueish beads from polymer clay without any project idea. They sat in the box after that. I loved them but I can't came up any jewelery projects where I can use them.
After a log time browsing session I came across this Shamballa bracelet project on Toocutebeads.com. Thanks for that! And voila my new blue shamballa bracelet was born.

Miserable weather
It's May! Here, in Ireland the first month of the official summer. And what we got? Rain, wind, snow rain, 8-12C (46-54F), hailstones and occasionally some sunny spells. Told you miserable.
I didn't get any summer feeling yet. :(
In the garden some of my Syringe bushes are blooming, took some photo about them.

Orange set
Started to make jewellery neary 2 years ago when the painting was not enough. This one was one of the first I made. Used polymer clay and clay gun.
At first the clay is really hard, rigid. You have to conditioning, warming up to use it properly. But after this 5-10 minutes session still hard to puss trough the gun. I still remember that struggle. ;)
